Tip of the month June

The month of June is the start of Hurricane Season

By Dr. Michael Windley DVM

Reduce stress before the storm by having a plan ready.

Decide in advance which option is best for you and your pet:

Stay in your home during a storm with your pets
Leave your home before or after a storm and take your pet with you
Leave your home before or after a storm and board your pet at a boarding kennel
(Make sure you make arrangements prior to dropping off)

In all cases, make sure you have or can provide at least 2 weeks of: fresh water, non-perishable food for you and your pet, medication, a leash and collar, proof of vaccinations (required for boarding or traveling), contact phone numbers where you can be reached during your time away

We have many new products that can help with fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal worms. The season can also bring allergies to outside cats and dogs. Periodically, check their skin, coats, and eyes regularly for signs of irritation and itching.

Have your pet examined if any symptoms appear.
The beginning of the spring season means the increase of parasites in our environment. You can prepare your pet now with a monthly preventative.

We carry many products for both internal and external parasites. These can be located on our products page in full detail.
